Each year the regionals seem to come around earlier and earlier.
This year we had 3 horses competing in 2 classes.
Duvie has had a very successful year, winning 2 Young Horse Championships, he went to the regionals with a very good chance of going to the Nationals, he was competing in the Elementary Championship. He started off really well, but, taking a dislike to a yellow VW Beetle driving past the arena, he decided to freestyle, we ended up going the wrong way in the test.
These things happen, he came back to me, but there was some tension in the rest of the work. He finished in 5th place, just missing out on qualifying. We will see if Wild cards work in our favor.
Korembloem Dior, who is a 7yr old I have had in training this year, competed in the Elementary and Medium Championship.
This is the first time I have competed him at a championship and he dealt with the show very well. He finished up winning the Elementary Title and was 2nd in the Medium. Qualifying for the Nationals at both levels.
Timlei competed in the Medium Championship. I was very pleased with his test. No mistakes and he worked very hard. He has lots of quality and talent. He finished 8th in the class. At this stage in his training it was a great result.
Next stop will be the Nationals in September. We will have 5 horses there, competing in 10 classes. Its a great show and we look forward to seeing everyone there.
