Back to Aspen Grove Dressage News & Events. 20th July 2007
On Wednesday we took Sandman and Ramazzottie to Hartpury to compete in the International Small Tour.
Trot up was on the Wednesday and both horses went through that with no problems.
On the Thursday, both competed in the first part of the competition, which is the PSG. It was a long class with around 35 International riders. We also had 5 foreign judges.
Sandman went first, after pulling up at the Young Horse Champs last week I hoped that he was back on form for this competition, he came out and did another great test, and at this point in the class, took the lead.
Ramazzottie was next, he has improved so much this year, he is a horse that never stops trying.
Like Sandman, he pulled out a great test with only a couple of small mistakes, he was able to pull some good marks and went into second place behind Sandman.
When you are sitting in a position like this, the rest of the class seems to take forever!
The class finished and we stayed at the front.
Sandman winning his first International title and Ramazzottie finishing a close second.
This evening was the Inter I, BUT, the weather this time has been so bad that the CDI has been cancelled.
I am very proud of both the boys and next stop is Sandman at Hickstead CDI next week.
