Aspen Grove Dressage took Duvie and Timlei to compete in the Elementary Winter Championships.
Duvie competed first out of our two horses.
The arena is very spooky as the judges and spectators are right on top of you. Duvie started the test well until he got close to the judge at "C" then he stopped and spun and proceeded to do a repeat performance! Not the best start! He was nervous but tried to keep everything together for the rest of the test. He finished 3rd over all which was a great result.
Next went Timlei, he is a huge horse at nearly 18.3! Not the smallest of horses to get around an arena!
He was a star. He took everything in his stride and he didn't bat an eyelid, just pricked his ears and got on with it.
He is really obedient and tries very hard. At present, because he is so big but not strong yet, he can't be ridden for too much expression. So the idea was to not throw away any marks. The decision worked as he won and is now 2007 National Winter Elementary Championship.
