Back to Aspen Grove Dressage News & Events. 21st October 2009
This year British Dressage has held a scheme called the Young Professionals Award which is similar to the Talent Spotting.
Young Riders were able to apply through British Dressage, where from these, 24 applicants went forward to one of three Training and assessment days held at Professionals yards. One of which was held here.
It was an interesting day with 8 Young Riders turning up for a day of training with their own horse, whilst being assessed on their riding and knowledge, plus being interviewed on other aspects of the industry.
Two riders from each day will be selected to go forward to the final which is being held at the beginning of next year.
This is aimed at producing an all round Professional which looks like they will have a great future in the sport, therefore it wasn't just about their riding, but also their understanding of the sport and seeing if they had within them what is needed to be successful.
I very much enjoyed the day and wish all the applicants the best of luck in this competition.
